BUSINESS PROFILE: MEZALUNA GOURMET DELIVERY

Juggling a love for delicious healthy food with a busy lifestyle has become a lot easier thanks to the owners of Mezzaluna, a local business specialising in nutritious home cooked, home delivered meals and event catering.

Diane Nealon and Charlotte Rourke started Mezzaluna in Austinmer three years ago. With young children and busy lifestyles they understand the time demands that providing nutritious balanced meals takes. Both women are passionate that meal times should bring people and families together and be a time to share and enjoying terrific healthy foods regardless of schedule. With backgrounds in training and hospitality they set about building a business providing nutritious healthy meal solutions for busy people and families.

BUSINESS PROFILE: IVORY & LACE BRIDAL BOUTIQUE

Ivory & Lace is a stylish boutique that is relatively new to the Sea Cliff Coast, located in a heritage listed building, near Fireworks Cafe in Moore Street, Austinmer.

Jennifer Lowe is the owner, long-time resident of the northern suburbs and mother of three, who lived in Africa for a period, and after returning to Australia, moved from Woonona to Austinmer.

Jennifer says, "I am passionate about the business and the personal private service that I am able to provide for brides who come from near and far to make a selection from the gorgeous gowns I have available from a number of Australia’s finest designers."

ANDREW Christensen wants to set the record straight.

He wants to correct some common misconceptions about how much it will cost and how long it will take to get the average, or below-average, looking bathroom to look more like a bathroom in a five star hotel.

“The prospect of updating a bathroom seems like a major expense and a huge inconvenience because many people mistakenly believe the only way to improve an existing bathroom is to replace all the tiles,” Andrew said.

HELENSBURGH resident, Marie Alessi, began her married life with husband Rob in a barefoot wedding ceremony on Stanwell Park beach (pictured).

By the age of 25, she had travelled to all 5 continents. Today, her car is painted with inspiring words and slogans. Marie knows what she wants and goes and gets
it.

This get up and go attitude resulted in the expansion of her Life Coaching Business, Muse Coaching. The business originally focused on coaching individuals and small business owners but now includes couples coaching.

Marie said: “I realise what my purpose in life is, it is to connect. I connect people with their passion and their purpose. I connect them with themselves and their heart. I help them release what’s standing in their way to grow themselves, their business or their relationship.”

BUSINESS PROFILE: ON EDGE DESIGN & LANDSCAPES, HELENSBURGH

NOT many landscape gardeners can claim to have tended the gardens of Hans Christian Andersen’s home in Denmark or to have created peacocks out of shrubs at the nearby King’s Garden.

But Helensburgh’s Jack Brown (above), the principal of On Edge Design & Landscapes, has more than his Danish background to thank for these career-defining opportunities: his mum and dad pushed him to learn a trade when he left school.

THE attitude about small retail outlets in the northern villages being more expensive needed to change, according to the manager of the Helensburgh Post Office, Greg Watts.

“Some people think ‘small shop, small town, must be more expensive’ but that’s rarely the case,” he said.
