22-year-old Stanwell Park musician Bec Sandridge is preparing to launch her new EP, "Wild Heart" at Heritage Hotel this Friday, 15th November with Coledale's Kay Proudlove providing support. After solo tours in the UK and US, and with numerous tracks featured on Australian television, the singer is a talent to watch.
I caught up with Bec recently to talk about her musical origins, the genesis of Wild Heart, and where she’s headed in the future.
Can you tell me a little bit about your musical background? How did you get into solo performing? (I know there’s a good story here!)
My family and friends have always known that I’m a hardcore shower-singer wanting to be a legitimate singer, but they all knew that I would never have the courage to venture out of my bathroom to the stage without a strong push. So naturally, they thought it would be a great idea to place monetary bets on me (they also knew how badly I needed and wanted the finances as I really longed to travel throughout the UK and Europe).
